the christians have blamed the jews for two thousands years for the crucifision of jesus. if jesus had committed a crime against his religions [the jews], then he would have been stoned as is the custom at the time. he was crucified, a roman custom, therefore the romans tried him as a zealot, one perceived to want to overthrow the roman regime. the two "thieves" crucified along him, were not thieves, but fellow zealots, in that they also wanted an independent jewish state. josephus, in his historical books of the time, claims that theft was not a crime punishable by death. therefore the crime was more severe. insurrection. almost two thousand years later, hitler comes along and also blames the jews. pope paul II apologizes, in person, to the rabbis in jerusalem for the criminal acts of the christians towards the jews. however he did not make public his apology which i believe is a further travesty on a people who committed no wrongs.
